Do you have a self-motivated approach to troubleshooting, and do you assume job responsibility? The department is part of Wind Power, which has 1400 employees and is one of five business units in DONG Energy. For more than 20 years, Wind Power has been working actively in the offshore wind industry, and as a result of this, we now have unique knowledge within this field. We use our know-how in all phases of our offshore wind turbine projects - from the early development phase, through the constructing phase to operation and maintenance. Safety is a focus area in everything we do. We have a strong market position, and we have developed and constructed the largest portfolio of offshore wind farms in Northern Europe. We are looking for Wind Turbine Technicians to work on the West of Duddon Sands Offshore Wind Farm based in Barrow-in-Furness.
Areas of responsibility You will perform work on our offshore turbines and on our onshore and offshore substations. Your primary tasks will be to:
If you have the relevant experience and skills, your role may also incorporate High Voltage service and troubleshooting and/or working and acting as an Authorised Person. Your profile You will have a full apprenticeship in control and instrumentation, mechanical or electrical engineering. Further qualifications such as a BTEC or HNC would be advantageous, but not essential. An aptitude for working at height and off shore is essential. You will be well experienced in troubleshooting on mechanical and electrical components. We will offer you on-the-job training as well as courses in offshore wind farm technology. It is important that you are willing to work in a team and are prepared to enter into a rota system. Your job will be rota based, and due to that your working hours will vary. Furthermore, you must be prepared to enter into a scheduled training programme for a period of approximately one year. The training programme may include working on some of our other offshore wind farms in the United Kingdom and Denmark. You may participate in construction projects both on site and on other locations in the United Kingdom and Northern Europe. You will be self-motivated and enjoy working both independently and as a member of a team. You will be adept at troubleshooting and using your own initiative to complete tasks.
