The B9 Energy group of Companies operates renewable energy projects and B9 Energy O&M is the UK and Ireland's largest independent wind farm Operation and Maintenance Company. Due to newly acquired and future contracts we wish to appoint an additional Wind Turbine Technician. The home base for this position is in the Huddersfield area.
The principal duties of a Wind Turbine Technician are to carry scheduled and unscheduled turbine maintenance; with adherence to site safety, quality process and environmental management. Training will be given as required. This position is designed to meet client requirements for a flexible team that can work at any of our clients wind farms to support operational needs.
While an NVQ 3 or equivalent in electrical engineering is preferable candidates with an NVQ 3 in mechanical/hydraulic engineering will also be considered. Experience in an engineering environment is essential. For this position a full driving licence is essential as is a good degree of physical fitness because the wind farms are in relatively remote locations and the candidate must be confident to work periodically at height and occasionally in adverse weather conditions. The candidates must also be able to demonstrate working knowledge of Microsoft office and word.
