Wind Turbine Mechanical Engineer, Denmark

My client is involved in the design of small and medium sized onshore wind projects. They have a strong pipeline ahead of them for 2010 – 2012 and they are hiring an additional person to join their project development team as a mechanical engineer.

Responsibilities:

• Come up with and provide suggestions for drive-train and bearing arrangement
• Work on design solutions for mechanical systems/components such as yaw system and brakes
• Develop and modify the mechanical design of other components such as generator and pitch systems
• Use and calculate design evaluations
• Liaise with third party testing of proto types
• Prepare design specifications and documentation for third-party certification

Skill and Profile:

• Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar
• Minimum 2 years relevant experience in wind turbine or related technology 
• Technical project managing background
• Good understanding of rotating machines
• An understanding of hydraulic and servo systems a bonus
• Must be fluent in English; knowledge of Danish a plus
• CAD knowledge also good
