Description

My client is a leading manufacturer of wind turbines and components with a large global client base.  They are currently experiencing a higher demand in Northern and Western Europe and as such are looking at hiring a Key Account Manager to work in Germany. This role will be partially or fully based in their German offices however will include the option of working at home for 50% of the time making it a very flexible opportunity for the successful candidate.

Responsibilities of the role include:

  • Take responsibility for negotiations of new orders for turbines and turnkey wind farms
  • Overseeing cost efficiency and ensuring an excellent service is provided to all key clients in your remit within strict budgetary controls
  • Relationship management with key accounts customers and contractors working on these accounts
  • Trouble shooting over the phone and in person and where necessary commissioning maintenance engineers to evaluate and repair any problems
  • Work closely with sales and engineering staff
  • Travelling frequently to visit clients and ensure that the best level of service is being provided
  • Upsell where appropriate

Requirements:-

  • You will have at least 3 years of wind turbine sales or key account management experience, with a proven track record in the wind industry in Northern Europe
  • Must have strong educational background (Business Studies or similar discipline, marketing or economics, MBA would be desirable)
  • Extensive knowledge of the onshore and offshore wind industry in Europe
  • Very strong client facing experience; excellent problem solving acumen; good team player and understanding of the potential problems facing key account holders in the wind industry
  • Able and willing to travel regularly to meet clients who have bought wind turbines or turnkey wind farms
  • Fluency in German is essential as you will be using this language to communicate with key account holders
