Description

My client is an established wind energy consultant. They are currently looking to hire a project manager to work within their environmental and permitting services sector. The primary focus of this role will be assessing, undertaking and managing environmental studies within the firm and coordinating various environmental assessment studies. The candidate will also be responsible for permit and approval requests for utility-scale wind energy projects and other Renewables e.g. solar PV, solar thermal, biomass. Therefore, they are looking for an individual with a thorough understanding of the permitting processes within Oregon and the wider region. The ideal candidate will have expert knowledge of the regulatory frameworks concerning wind energy both at national and state level. Experience in the wind sector, especially within a regulatory capacity is essential.

 

Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

 

  • Coordinating the overall execution of mandates with an end-to-end authority by making optimal use of company resources
  • Preparing (EIA) environmental impact assessment reports for wind energy projects and other renewable energy projects
  • Organizing consulting activities with different groups and local communities
  • Reporting on environmental impact studies before government authorities etc
  • Overseeing acquisition of permits and authorizations required by municipalities, federal and provincial authorities.
  • Coming up with innovative ideas to mitigate environmental impacts of wind energy projects through both the evaluation process and the development stage.
  • Establish and maintain sustainable relationships and good communication with clients, vendors, sub-contractors and other project stakeholders.
  • Prepare custom-made proposals fit to each client or project and engage proactively in business development.

Requirements:

  • Masters degree in a relevant field
  • Experience in the wind industry and experience in regulatory affairs
  • B.Sc. in a relevant field such as biology, land planning, environmental sciences, environmental engineering
  • Previous project management experience
  • Excellent written  and oral communication
