My client is a global subcontractor for all the major companies within the wind-turbine industry, delivering specialized project supervisors and technicians to supervise, service and commission wind turbine projects all over the world. They are looking for an experienced project development manager to join their team and help aid their expansion within the UK. This is an exceptional opportunity to join an ambitious and growing company within the wind space in a very focused hands-on position.
Position Overview:
My client is seeking an experienced project development manager to oversee their operations. As the project development manager you will be required to proactively source new projects to grow the business. The successful candidate will have strong communication and interpersonal skills. You will have a minimum 3-5 years previous project development experience with a proven track record in the wind industry.
Responsibilities:-
- · Take the lead and ensure that wind farm projects are fully compliant with contractual and customer requirements.
- · Identify the viability for commercial wind projects
- · Prepare and deliver (at meetings or by e-mail) monthly progress reports for each project
- · Oversee the prioritization of assignments, budgets and to organize and direct the flow of work to meet both internal and external expectations
- · Identify, assess and create project development opportunities
- · Development of new projects
- · Carry out preliminary technical studies during the site assessment, environmental impact assessment, consenting and design phases of all projects
- · Developing business relationships with relevant land owners, including full discussions of financial and legal ramifications
- · Take the lead on due-diligence mandates as well as environmental impact assessments, wind assessments and consenting/planning applications
- · Developing strategies, plans and goals on a global scale with industry leaders
Education:-
- · Must have strong academic background in business or any engineering discipline
Core Requirements:-
- At least 3-5 years experience with a proven track record in the development and management of wind projects
- A strong background working in the offshore wind market
- · Excellent management skills
- · Be able to understand the total project development operation including material procurement and forecasting
- · Ability to communicate across all levels of an organization
General Requirements:-
- · Ability to work under deadline pressure and deliver high quality results
Key Skills:-
Solid understanding of offshore wind development regulations, team leadership, offshore wind, project development, negotiating, developing strategies
