Wind farm design engineer, Hamburg

My client is a leading developer of wind farms in the UK and Europe.

Owing to new demand and new contracts signed, they are looking to hire an onshore wind farm design engineer to be based in Hamburg, Germany.

This design engineer will be responsible for partaking in and overseeing the design of onshore wind farms across Germany from a mechanical engineering and construction perspective, and as such this role is a key position as the engineer will be expected to come up with the most cost-effective but still high quality solutions for clients, in order to maintain the good reputation of the company that they have achieved in the last five years.

Responsibilities:

• ·         Design new wind farms from a construction and materials perspective
• ·         Take into account all pre-design information such as pre-feasibility studies, wind measurements, EIA (environmental impact assessments) and budget
• ·         Ensure that all designs are are as accurate as possible, speaking with Project Managers and Construction Engineers in order to ensure designs are brought to realisation correctly
• ·         Advising on initial budgetary requirements including supply chain issues
• ·         Taking initial information and order forms from sales team and speaking directly to clients if necessary

Skills and qualifications required:

• ·         MSc in mechanical engineering
• ·         MSc in renewable energy
• ·         At least 5 years’ experience in the wind power sector working as a design engineer or technician
• ·         Fluency in German is essential; fluency in English is a plus point
• ·         Flexibility to travel to various wind farm sites across Germany is important
• ·         Full, clean driving license
