Role Summary/Purpose:
The Wind Electrical Systems team scope includes all electrical systems required for connecting the generator to the grid and the components of a wind turbine electrically. In this role, you will:
Essential Responsibilities
- Execute Engineering design work on wind electrical subassemblies, power and control cables - Responsible for electrical components and assemblies inside the nacelle and hub - Define and control of complete technical documentation of electrical components and subassemblies, including engineering ownership for the bill of material - Have ownership of component design from prototyping, over introduction into manufacturing to maintenance in the installed fleet
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical / Power Engineering
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability and willingness to travel as required - Fluent in English (spoken and written)

- Experience in electrical component, power and control cable dimensioning - Ability to work with global team members across cultural boundaries - Familiar with the usage of engineering software - Self-motivated - Strong knowledge of electrical components, applications and practices - Ability to design according to international standards and codes like IEC, UL, CSA, ISO, CE, DIN etc. - Master’s Degree in Electrical / Power Engineering - Six Sigma DFSS Green Belt Certification (GE employees only) - Proven ability to work under pressure and challenging conditions - First hand experience on electrical assembly testing
