Description

Wildlife photographers needed to document animal, bird, plant and insect life in a beautiful, subtropical part of rural Ecuador, in the foothills of the Andes Mountains.

You will be helping a small charity working for “Green Progress”, i.e. environmentally-responsible social and economic development.  The charity, CRACYP, is recognized for pioneering work in rural development.  One of their sustainable development projects will soon start a new phase.  As part of this, they want to make an inventory of wildlife in the area, both from the point of view of knowing what is there to be able to conserve it, and as a resource for a proposed eco-tourism project in the area.

You don’t necessarily have to be a professional photographer to apply, but we do want photos to a high standard.  If you are able to identify species as well, that would be a bonus, but is not essential.  Please include a link to 3 samples of your photos with your application.

Other volunteer opportunities are also available on whatever sustainable development projects are happening at the time, for example in organic agriculture, ecotourism development, health and safety improvements on farms, helping with primary education, etc.  Volunteer opportunities available for 1 to 8 weeks, all year round.  For more information, see http://www.progresoverde.org/volunteer_ecuador.html or email volunteer.ecuador@yahoo.co.uk quoting reference SDPhoJun10.
