Description
ERM is seeking a motivated Wetland Scientist, Ecologist with extensive regulatory/permitting experience to join our Boston, MA office. The position requires well developed communication and cognitive skills and a desire to work in a team-oriented environment. The position requires a mixture of field and office work.
Wetlands Scientist/Ecologist Responsibilities includes:
  • Wetland delineation/documentation
  • Endangered species surveys
  • Representation of delineations/projects to regulatory agencies
  • Preparation of multi-faceted permit applications
  • Regulatory reviews and strategies
  • Preparation of restoration and mitigation plans
  • Construction and mitigation oversight/monitoring
  • Storm water management permitting and inspections
  • Preparation of Environmental Impact Assessments
Wetlands Scientist Qualifications includes:
  • BS in Natural Resource Sciences, Biology or related degree (MS preferred)
  • 7-15 years with consulting experience on local, state, and federal wetland and protected species regulations required
  • Experience in Massachusetts is essential, working knowledge in other states, especially Rhode Island and New Hampshire is a plus.
  • Knowledge of related environmental regulations is required
  • Demonstrated experience with design of wetland mitigation/restoration projects
  • Professional certification (or actions underway to obtain these credentials) in soil, wetland, and wildlife sciences is an advantage
  • Familiarity with GPS equipment a plus
