World Wildlife Fund (WWF), the world’s leading conservation organization, seeks a Web Content Editor to be responsible for the overall creation, coordination and management of all content on WWF’s website. The editor will write original and edit others contributions to achieve a balanced presentation which will define and promote WWF, lead the implementation of WWF’s web content strategy planning of the editorial calendar for the website and provide input to the Online Marketing Team on the editorial calendar for other digital channels. This person will work closely with program communications and online staff, guiding content for email/social media and ensuring that communications are strategic across all digital channels.
A Bachelors degree or equivalent experience with minimum 10 years of relevant work experience in developing, coordinating, and managing the process of updating digital content across channels (web, email, social media, mobile) is required. An advanced degree in Journalism or a Communications-related field is preferred. Experience in managing the development of digital communications materials, extensive writing and editorial experience, and superb storytelling skills are also required. Strong familiarity with best practices for web design, information architecture, and web user interface is essential. HTML and image editing skills, ability to work in CMS and other web platforms and the ability to edit/upload video and audio are also necessary. This position also requires strong knowledge of international conservation and U.S. environmental policy. Experience with nonprofit organizations or public information work is desirable.
