We are looking for someone with a proven commitment to WWF's mission with a strong track record of influencing senior decision makers and considerable knowledge of sustainability issues in the private sector, to play an important role in our Freshwater Programme.
WWF-UK addresses global threats to people and nature such as climate change, the peril to endangered species and habitats, and the unsustainable consumption of the world's natural resources. We do this by influencing how governments, businesses and people think, learn and act in relation to the world around us, and by working with local communities to improve their livelihoods and the environment upon which we all depend.
As a Water Policy Advisor you will be part of an innovative WWF team that seeks to reframe the debate on management of water, to encourage sustainable water footprints and to safeguard iconic freshwater ecosystems and biodiversity. Specifically, you will encourage large UK and EU-based businesses to address the most harmful impacts of their water footprints and to support public policy that promotes better water management across the world.
As well as working closely with a range of colleagues here in the UK, you will also form strong functional relationships with other WWF staff across the world that specialise in both water policy and in ecological and water footprints.
Your passion for our cause is vital and you'll be able to demonstrate that you can take a strategic viewpoint and deliver on challenging objectives. You'll bring a track record of forming important alliances with stakeholders and of constructively influencing decision-makers. Ideally, you will have experience of helping the private sector to become more sustainable. Your communications skills will be exceptional.
