Description

We need a biologist, ornithologist and/or botanist to survey the area surrounding one of our farming communities.  We know that the area has high biodiversity but we want to know what’s there!  The aim is to produce a listing of the wildlife in the area and later a basic guide with photos, Latin and common names and a short description.

You’ll be volunteering in a beautiful, subtropical part of rural Ecuador, in the foothills of the Andes Mountains, helping a small charity working for “Green Progress”, i.e. environmentally-responsible social and economic development.  The charity, CRACYP, is recognized for pioneering work in rural development.

Some Spanish lessons are included as part of the program so that you will be able to communicate with the friendly people in this small agricultural village.

This is a rewarding way to get off the beaten track and see a different side of life in Ecuador.  You’ll stay in a small farming village in the beautiful sugar cane hills in the Western Andes.

Opportunities available for 1 to 8 weeks, all year round.  For more information, see http://www.progresoverde.org/volunteer_ecuador.html or email volunteer.ecuador@yahoo.co.uk quoting reference SDFieJun10.
