Volunteer - Sustainable Rural Development in Ecuador

Volunteer in a beautiful, subtropical part of rural Ecuador, in the foothills of the Andes Mountains.  Help a small charity working for “Green Progress”, i.e. environmentally-responsible social and economic development.  The charity, CRACYP, is recognized for pioneering work in rural development and you can help out with whatever environmental and social projects are happening at the time.

Volunteer work might include helping the one teacher in the village school with over 40 students, developing an organic vegetable plot with the students, improving safety on organic sugar cane plantations, planning new projects to process raw materials produced in the area or researching excursions for an ecotourism project. 

Some Spanish lessons are included as part of the program so that you will be able to communicate with the friendly people in this small agricultural village.

No experience needed, a rewarding way to get off the beaten track and see a different side of life in Ecuador.  You’ll stay in a small farming village in the beautiful sugar cane hills in the Western Andes.
