Description

The local NGO promotes research, conservation and protection of the marine fauna and flora through various projects. The main activity is a sea turtle protection - helping animals in trouble and support hatching during nesting season. In addition NGO performs various environmental education activities - seminars at schools, public actions. 

 The internship should be at least over a period of 1-3 months (maximum 6 months) and can be started immediately. 

Tasks:

- Participation in current projects and researches

- Taking care of sick and injured animals (mostly sea turtles)

- Beach patrols

- Nest tracking, relocation, excavation

Profile:

- Good knowledge of Portuguese (or language course on site)

- Background in biology is preferred but not essential

- Committed, reliable, positive attitude

- Ability to work in hard conditions (beach patrol require couple of hours walking under the sun)
