Vice President (VP) of Technology, West California, USA

My client is a manufacturer and developer of high efficiency photovoltaic (PV) cells using crystalline silicon and are establishing manufacturing plants globally. They are currently looking for a VP of technology to work out of their office in W. California and coordinate the advancement in the cell efficiencies.

Position Overview:

My client is looking for a candidate with extensive experience in the research and development of crystalline silicon solar cells to add value by introducing innovative new methods and lead the advancements in crystalline silicon solar cell technology. This is a chance for a highly competent individual in the field to take a pioneering role as a VP of technology in a rapidly expanding organization with a solid foundation to build the company to be a market leader in solar PV cell efficiency.

Responsibilities

• ·         Run the pilot line and drive advancements in solar cell efficiency
• ·         Take on strategic hires and manage a team of lab technicians efficiently to deadlines specified
• ·         Use progressive manufacturing photovoltaic processes to advance the efficiency of PV (photovoltaic) cells
• ·         Apply scientific knowledge to innovate and apply advanced concepts to increase yield efficiencies
• ·         Draw reliable conclusions from project data.
• ·         Would be reporting directly to the CEO

Core Requirements:

• ·         The VP of Technology will be educated to MSc or PhD level in materials science, chemical engineering or physics.
• ·         Capable of taking on a leadership position and driving results
• ·         Must have extensive knowledge in the use of crystalline silicon (n and p doped variants) in a solar environment
• ·         Will have an understanding of the physics of operation of photovoltaic silicon solar cells and a working knowledge of the technology used to produce them

General Requirements:

• ·         Be willing to work out of Western California
• ·         Must be passionate about driving advancements in solar cell efficiency and establishing the company as a Global market leader.
