Member of leadership team within Center for Conservation and Government (CCG), reporting to the Executive Vice President (EVP), responsible for setting institutional goals for Public Funding and for providing strategic direction to the implementation of the organization’s public funding work at a global level. Oversee the implementation of strategies to catalyze, diversify and increase the amount of support by public donors. Contribute to overall long-term strategic planning for CCG. Lead development of medium-term and annual strategies and work plans for Public Funding. Align public fundraising strategies with Global Initiatives Division and Field Programs. Ensure alignment of global public funding agenda with global priorities current and future. 
 
Participate with EVP in raising funds for the division. Represent the organization before governments, multilateral and bilateral institutions at the highest level. Ensure the organization is presented accurately and is effectively communicated to governments, donors and key stakeholders, ensuring strategic and sustainable partnerships. Maintain key institutional partnerships and ensure excellent donor relationships with bilateral and multilateral agencies. Lead the identification, engagement and contract negotiations for high potential bilateral and multilateral institutions and government ministries/agencies to catalyze funding. 
 
Provide technical support to internal partner programs in donor approach, proposal development and proposal submission. Serve as an advisor to the leadership and to internal partner programs, providing strategic advice and direction to the organization’s highest level engagement with bilateral and multilateral institutions including at key international events. In coordination with Ecosystems Finance Division, increase donor base for fundraising mechanisms available, in particular the Critical Ecosystem Partnership Fund (CEPF) and participate in the processing of debt-for-nature swaps involving public financial institutions. Spearhead the expansion of the organization’s public donor network through engagement in policy implementation and priority setting discussions with public donors. Responsibility for overall strategy for all public donor accounts. Serve as strategic advisor to all members of the account team. Support the development and implementation of an organization-wide capacity building program related to fundraising and grants management in coordination with the Resources Management Group (RMG), the Strategy Division, the Ecosystems Finance Division (EFD), Development and the Center for Environmental Leadership in Business (CELB). Provide guidance and assistance to development and implementation of public funding component of the capacity building program. 
 
Effectively manage a lean, flexible and effective Public Funding team that ensures excellent relationships with bilateral and multilateral donors and meets the commitment levels set forth each year for public funding. Define goals, objectives and deliverables for professionals in the Public Funding department. Attract and manage highly talented group of experts. Supervise the development and implementation of monitoring systems for incoming public funds. Ensure coordination of work, internal communication and team meetings.
