Description

My client is a globally renowned solar photovoltaic (PV)  project developer, with a proven track record  over 10 years. They provide on-grid and off-grid residential, commercial, industrial and utility scale applications around the world. They have subsidiaries in  Asia, Europe and North-America. They are now looking to deliver a number of large projects in Italy and are looking for an experienced individual to join of their team and lead project development in the European PV market.

 

Position Overview:
Responsible for sourcing new solar projects and providing consulting services to these projects. Conduct project due diligence and project financing, including equity or tax equity investment and short- or long-term debt. Projects range from 1MW to 20MW.

 

Responsibilities:-

  • ·         Analyze solar resource, energy policies, incentives, wholesale energy prices, and land cost and availability within the desert South West region to establish priorities for project development
  • ·         Play a key role in decisions made to outsource project development activities with co-development partners and service providers
  • ·         Create economic models to verify project feasibility and gain approval
  • ·         Identify and secure suitable land for power plant sites and/or manage development partners in site acquisition
  • ·         Coordinate grid connection application process including engineering, submission and utility response
  • ·         Manage the permitting process from establishing need for environmental impact assessment through to issuance of CUP
  • ·         Manage external stakeholder relationships with local communities, regulator, off takers, consultants, contractors
  • ·         Manage the PPA process, including legal review and negotiation through to regulatory approval
  • ·         Manage engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) of solar power plant design
  • ·         Support financial structuring of the project and financial due diligence
  • ·         Determine need for on-site solar resource measurement and manage implementation
  • ·         Contribute to the development of a dynamically growing company by being a team player willing to help out beyond direct responsibilities

 

Education:-

  • ·         Must a bachelors degree (Engineering, Economics, Environmental Studies or BA)

 

Core Requirements:-

  • Minimum 3-5 years previous project development experience with a proven track record in the solar industry
  • Excellent problem solving skills with a track record of developing solutions
  • Strong commercial and legal knowledge and experience 

General Requirements:-

  • Ability to travel
  • ·         Ability to communicate across all levels of an organization
  • Ability to work independently but within tightly controlled business policies
