Borrego Solar Systems, Inc, a growing, solar energy design, finance, engineering and installation company, seeks an experienced Utility Project Developer for our Berkeley, CA office.
Borrego Solar Systems, Inc seeks an experienced energy development professional to add to its utility projects team to help implement strategies to develop solar power plants for utilities across the US. The primary objective of this position within the utility development team is to obtain site control for PV projects in targeted locations and to manage those projects through the entitlement process.

Desired Qualifications: • 5 years experience in power plant or real estate development • Understanding of utility regulatory environment • Understanding and experience with CEQA, NEPA, BLM, and Williamson Act, etc • Experience performing financial models and calculations (ROI, IRR, NPV, APR, etc) • Strong math and computer skills • Proficiency with Salesforce and Microsoft Office including Outlook, Excel, Project, OneNote and Word • Works well with a team but also is a self starter • Four year college degree required, Master’s preferred
Position Responsibilities will include but not be limited to: • Develop and support the achievement of utility sales goals • Oversight of projects through the development process • Creation of development budgets and schedules • Identifying and obtaining site control in target project locations • Coordinate with internal and external team members • Development of key customer relationships and partnerships • Develop strategic and tactical development execution plans • Work interdepartmentally to ensure opportunities are developed efficiently
