Opower’s thermostat solutions team is building the world’s most engaging and user-friendly software platform to help people better manage their home heating and cooling, without sacrificing comfort. We’re looking for someone to lead sales, business development, and program delivery for the utility channel. 
You will be an integral member of the thermostat solutions team, helping craft strategy, support utility channel sales and ensure the successful delivery of these programs. You will garner resources from a cross-functional team of sales executives, engineers, energy efficiency experts, product developers, regulatory and legal experts, statisticians, scientists, and marketing professionals to deliver results.
This is an ideal job for a business leader with experience working with utilities.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work closely with senior executives to set the strategy for the utility channel and execute against it
  • Support Opower sales executives in closing business with utilities as the domain expert from Thermostat Solutions
  • Work with Opower’s Engagement Management and Consumer Marketing and Analytics team to ensure flawless deployment of all thermostat program deployments through the utility channel
  • Seek out, develop and nurture business partnerships within the utility sector ecosystem to deliver against the strategic plan for thermostat solutions

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • BS or BA in Business, Environmental Policy or related field, MBA is strongly preferred
  • 5-10 years of professional experience required in managing client relationships (i.e. sales, account management, multiple-projects in management consulting, etc.)
  • You have experience working within the utility sector ecosystem
  • You have demonstrated success in leading client-facing relationships
  • You understand how to build and leverage strong business relationships
  • You are analytical, yet creative
  • You have a strong sense of how to motivate others, and an uncanny ability to “get things done” in a matrix environment
  • You have strong project management experience, ideally in a rapidly-paced consulting, services or technology-related environment; previous start-up and/or SaaS business model experience is idea
