Description

The Urban Birds Program Coordinator works across BirdLife’s programs and with multiple external stakeholders to improve conservation outcomes for Australian birds in line with the Urban Birds Conservation Action Plan (UBCAP) and Bird Conservation Strategy.

By supporting, growing, connecting and developing our Urban Bird Program and its core projects the Urban Birds Program Coordinator will practically implement program principles by leading some of our signature projects including Powerful Owl and Birds in Backyards.

YOU WILL DO THIS BY

  • Growing a modern and innovative Birds in Backyards Program
  • Managing the Powerful Owl Project
  • Supporting the strategic development of the Urban Birds Program
  • Contributing to building the BirdLife Citizen Science Community

STATUS AND REMUNERATION

This is a full-time position 5 days per week (1FTE) on a 2-year contract. This role is based in Sydney. Salary $70,738 per annum plus 10% superannuation.

TO APPLY FOR THIS ROLE YOU MUST:

  • Have tertiary qualifications in conservation or another relevant discipline
  • Have at least two years related work experience
  • Extensive experience in monitoring, surveys and or citizen science
  • Experience with science communication for a range of stakeholders
  • Data management and statistical analysis skills
  • Have valid Australian work rights with permission to work
