Two engineers for Wind Power Analysis

We wish to expand our load calculation team in the wind power analysis department with two engineers to work on load calculations for wind turbines primarily offshore wind turbines. The department is part of Engineering a technical knowledge centre at the forefront of the development within energy and environment. Our staff of 500 employees includes 425 engineers.

You will join a department with 15 committed colleagues whose main focus areas are wind resource assessment, wind turbine load calculation and procurement as well as load response measurements on wind turbines.

Our department offices are located in Skærbæk near Fredericia and at Teglholmen in Copenhagen. As a member of the wind resources team you may freely choose to be employed at either office.

Areas of responsibility

You are responsible for performing wind assessment in relation to our sites, for example mean wind, turbulence, wind farm effects and extreme wind. Additionally, you contribute to the specification of design basis ie, specification of design methodologies, including load cases, calculation procedures, design standards, etc.

Furthermore, your primary tasks are to:

• perform load calculations for foundation design of offshore wind turbines
• manage certification processes especially regarding load calculations
• plan load measurement programs in cooperation with partners and sub-suppliers
• analyse load measurements and validate theoretical models
• contribute to continuous improvement of calculation procedures, methods and toolbox.

Your profile

You are educated as an engineer. We expect you to have flair for software model development and good knowledge of wind turbine technology.

It will be advantageous if you additionally have knowledge of hydrodynamics.

You must have fine communication and technical report writing skills in English.

Furthermore, we expect that you will take an active part in the development of our knowledge base and participate in solving related development tasks and studies.

It is essential that you have good analytical abilities and are able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a timely and effective manner. You work well both on your own and with your colleagues as well as business partners. It is also important that you are able to prioritise whilst working during busy and challenging periods.
