Reference number: 2601008 West Yorkshire We are seeking an enthusiastic, knowledgeable and organised project officer to initiate the England Twite Recovery Project based in the South Pennines, but also targeting the east coast wintering sites. This a joint RSPB/Natural England species recovery project aimed at reversing the decline in the English twite population through pro active targeting of habitat intervention measures. We are looking for candidates with a proven track record (minimum 2 years) of negotiating conservation-based land management change with farmers. A sound understanding of upland farming systems, agri environment schemes and a good knowledge of twite ecology and survey techniques are essential. Practical use of GIS (Mapinfo) and the ability to report results both verbally and electronically also desirable.
