My client is a global leader within the wind sector, delivering services world wide for market leading developers, manufacturers, consultants and operators. They are now looking for a Turbine Reliability Engineer to join their team in London, UK.

Position Overview:

The turbine reliability engineer will be required to provide support and expertise to all areas of my client’s wind business, from site development through to turbine selection, construction and operation across all markets.

Responsibilities:-

  • ·         Reviewing the turbine technology and conducting assessments of turbine suitability
  • ·         Coordinating major component failure investigations
  • ·         Investigate transformer operational failures
  • ·         Making sure that appropriate turbines are picked on a project by project basis
  • ·         Produce reports and review specifications
  • ·         Perform turbine reliability studies as well as developing models for turbine performance analysis

Education:-

  • ·         Must have a degree in either electrical or mechanical engineer

Core Requirements:-

  • ·         Excellent communication skills enabling effective discussion and transfer of information between areas of the business and turbine manufacturers
  • ·         The ability to manage several projects and high work loads with demanding timescales
  • ·         Strong investigative skills - design experience and/or failure analysis would be a significant advantage
  • ·         The ability to work as part of a team, both leading and as a key member, influencing decisions and reacting positively to challenges as the investigation/study evolve
  • ·         A strong technical background in offshore wind
  • ·         Strong reporting and presentation skills with a good working knowledge of MS Office
  • ·         Experience with Matlab and / or VB programming would be advantageous

General Requirements:-

  • ·         Ability to travel
  • ·         Ability to work alone as well as part of a team
  • ·         Full UK Drivers License
