My client is a market leader in thin-film technology and over a number of years built up a strong track record in the production of CIS solar modules in the photovoltaic space, they are looking for an experienced engineer to work in their plant in North-East Germany.
Responsibilities:-
- Performing trials and evaluation to achieve the continued improvement of the equipment
- Developing innovative processes and systems for coating, from metal and semiconductor thin films, especially transparent conductive oxide (TCO) for chalcopyrite (CIS/CIGS) thin film solar modules
- Offer technical support during the creation of concepts for systems
- Technical understanding of the concepts for systems presented by the systems manufacturers
- Be the go-to person for technical queries from suppliers from the invitation of tenders to the purchase of the system
- Performing trials and evaluation to achieve the continued improvement of the equipment
- Support during the process of putting the production systems for the manufacture of thin film solar modules in operation
Requirements:-
- Strong educational background (Bachelors degree in physics, materials science or electrical engineering preferred)
- Minimum 5 years of work experience within the thin film solar space
- Knowledge of semiconductor technology and understanding of semiconductor components
- Specific, proven experience in thin film technology, especially coating by RF and DC-magnetron-sputtering or evaporation
- Good knowledge of installation of systems in the photovoltaic space
- Project management experience in the photovoltaic space
- Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English and German
- Willingness to occasionally travel nationally and internationally
