My client is a national consultancy with focus in the wind space. They are currently looking to hire a wind technology specialist capable of managing a large wind projects, ensuring that all technical aspects of the wind farm are well maintained. The projects are both onshore and offshore but the majority of planning and assessment will be conducted for the onshore sites.  The role requires a high level of analytical and technical experience so they are looking for someone with a degree in engineering and extensive experience in wind turbine structure and technology. They are also keen to hire someone with experience in lender’s engineering as this role will require constant client facing with c-level clients  as well as with banks and other financial institutions. The role will be fulfilled in several different locations as you will be constantly travelling to meet with key project stakeholders and directors.

 

This role will appeal to a technically experienced and talented individual who is able to communicate their extensive knowledge to clients not experienced in the technicalities of wind turbine technology.

 

Responsibilities will include but not be restricted to:

  • Manage the EIA assessment process
  • Develop project strategies that dictate the wind farm layout as well as the turbine specifications required,
  • Executing due diligence reviews.
  • Liaise with clients regarding the development of their projects
  • Making recommendations to clients on the feasibility of onshore and offshore wind projects based on client targets and own research
  • Manage a large team to ensure that strict deadlines are met.

Experience and qualifications

  • 5+ years within the UK wind energy sector
  • Due diligence experience is essential.
  • Project management experience is vital.
  • Degree in engineering or related field, especially mechanical engineering
  • Passionate about wind energy and knowledgeable about current UK regulations and requirements
  • Excellent oral and writing communication skills are also essential.
