My client is an international group offering innovation and high-tech engineering consulting and is the European leader in its field. Currently, they are looking for an experienced technical consultant to bring on board to manage the design and construction of an offshore wind farm project which will last for a period of 4-5years, this is an extremely big and challenging project which will be based in Hamburg, Germany.
Position Overview:
A successful candidate will need to have complete technical knowledge of big platforms/floating marine platforms in all areas to ensure that the projects that they originate are not only technically feasible but also economically viable. You also require a specific focus on electrical and control and it is key that you have taken the lead as a technical engineer .
Responsibilities:
• To ensure that the project is completed within the budget and to schedule
• Working with the HR team to propose necessary hiring requirements.
• Working with contractors to assist and manage contractual risk.
• To establish and maintain a strong working relationship with both the HSE and quality control
• Providing all project specifications eg. travel expenses and policy, project guidelines and procedures
• Manage all site resources
• Generate weekly and monthly update reports
• To provide training to new transferred employees
• To ensure that union agreements are implemented
Education:
• Must be educated to BSc level in Construction Management or Engineering – Electrical or Civil, preferred
Core Requirements:
• Must have vast experience in implementing key phases engineering and construction of offshore platforms.
• Must have vast procurement know-how and vendor selection
• Must have worked as a Lead technical Engineer for at least 5 years.
• Must have a complete understanding of Big/Floating Marine Platforms
• Must be able to lead engineering groups/teams.
General Requirements
• Proficient of Microsoft applications
• Ability to work towards and meet strict deadlines
• Ability to communicate across all levels of an organization
• Strong management and leadership skills
• Experience in electrical engineering would be an advantage but not essential
