Technical Manager, London, UK

My client is a leading supplier of solar PV modules, stand alone/complete systems, mounting systems and inverters throughout the US and Europe. They are currently in a rapid expansion faze within their company and are looking to appoint key positions across all levels of the organisation in particular in the UK as they can see the growth prospects that they can achieve in this market.

Position Overview:

You will report directly to the Managing Director in the UK and provide technical support to customers and the sales team alike. As the technical manager in the UK you will have a full understanding of the technical side of the UK solar PV industry.

Responsibilities

• •         You will carry out the initial training and following through with the technical quality and customer service standards
• You will provide a comprehensive technical support service to customers as required

• You will develope technical training in order for colleagues and customers alike to gain full understanding of the product
• Ensuring that all products are fully UK compliant and that any technical innovations are fed back to the product management team
• Working to ensure that the company maintains its reputation and standards in the UK
• Advise on technical content for all marketing materials
• Provide customer feedback to sales team
• You will ensure that the standard and quality of installatiosn is maintained across the UK and that customer satisfatction is always at the highest level
• To attend export technical manager meetings and trade fairs internationally as required

Education:

You will have an electrical or mechanical engineering degree

Core Requirements

• 4-5 years of experience in a managerial role with a strong background in the technical side of building and electrical systems
• Extensive knowledge of UK technical requirements for solar PV systems

• Excellent problem solving skills
• You will have the technical qualifications required by UK law
• Experience of working in a technical capacity in the UK photovoltaic industry;

• Process driven approach to business and excellent planning skills
• Knowledge of CAD systems, good PC skills, confident with use of Spreadsheets
• Demonstrated problem solving skills
