Technical Director, Milan, Italy. €75k - €85k + Bonus

My client’s business is dedicated to the planning , building and financing of solar PV power plants worldwide. They focus on development of large-scale ground-mounted and rooftop solar projects. As they are expanding their Italian operations, they looking to recruit a technical director to train, develop and manage the technical team and contractors to build large-scale solar PV projects. The technical director will to have a hands on approach to oversee all the building of the projects.

Core Criteria:
My client is looking to recruit a technical director, with an electrical engineering background to oversee all technical issues onsite and oversee the building of large-scale PV projects.  

Responsibilities:-

• ·         Oversee PV Installation
• ·         Developing new business relationships and manage the relationships with existing business partners
• ·         Manage and supervise contractors, project managers, project engineers, installers, site managers, construction managers etc.
• ·         Ensure all occupational Health and Safety procedures are followed
• ·         Procedures development
• ·         Tran and manage the technical team and contractors
• ·         Oversee technical, environmental and economical feasibility studies about sites for new power plants
• ·         Preparation of the documentation according to Italian Laws
• ·         Liaising with Public Authorities to achieve the permits to begin the construction phase
• ·         Coordinate with the legal department for the editing of the contracts

• Site Survey, Rebate & Interconnect, System Design, Inspection, customer management and quotes
• Coordinated purchasing, permitting, and inspections
• Manage PV site construction and design devolvement

Education:-

• ·         Electrical engineering degree

Core Requirements:-

• At least 3-5 years relevant work experience in the solar photovoltaic (PV)  industry with a proven track record in a senior level project management role overseeing the building of large-scale projects
• Excellent problem solving skills with a track record of developing solutions for large-scale PV projects

General Requirements:-

• Ability to travel

• ·         Ability to communicate across all levels of an organization

• Ability to work independently but within tightly controlled business policies

Key Skills:-

Solar PV, Engineering Background, large-scale solar PV project experience, Fluency in English and Italian, German language skills beneficial, team leadership and complex stakeholder and customer management experience.
