Technical Director London, United Kingdom or Brazil A London based wind energy development and investment platform with a focus on emerging markets. The company sources and develops wind opportunities from Greenfield stage to acquisition of licenses through local partnerships – in several Latin America countries, Ukraine and South Africa. They are seeking to recruit a Technical Director to assist with the growth of our dynamic and fast growing business. The successful candidate will: - Ensure management of wind energy project development from initial site screening up to construction
- Manage due diligence process on potential acquisitions of Greenfield projects and development assets
- Technical interface with local development teams
- Originate and manage wind assessments and engineering studies
- Coordinate with local development partners and support permit applications
- Conduct site visits to assess site suitability and prepare deliverable reports
- Prepare detailed cost estimates budget and schedules for individual projects based on business plan
- Coordinate with third parties (e.g. technical consultants) to validate conduct cost estimates and cost schedules in support of project financing
- Select manage and direct engineering and contractors and vendors
- Support negotiations with turbine suppliers and subcontractors
- Ensure appropriate document control processes are in place and maintained
Qualifications: - Be qualified to degree level or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline
- 4-7 years experience in wind energy assessment
- Possess excellent project management communication and problem solving skills and experience
- Have a good knowledge of the wind energy business
- Be able to understand interpret and prepare technical reports
- Previous experience of managing and working with 3rd parties
- Be able to communicate effectively including via remote link
- Excellent interpersonal written and oral communication and organizational skills
- Willingness to travel frequently
- Have well developed IT skills
