Main duties and responsibilities: • Providing technical and strategic support to help public sector and SME customers cut energy use and carbon emissions • Development of new customers for our existing programmatic support, including our flagship public sector carbon management programmes • Management of events, workshops and awareness activity • Budget management • To work with other parts of Carbon Trust, including Salix Finance and Implementation Solutions, to assist customers to implement energy efficiency projects Key Performance Indicators • Carbon saved and cost effectiveness of the support delivered • Key customer relationships developed and maintained • Problem solving support provided to the Carbon Trust and its services, specifically - Development of new work and business for the carbon programmes team - Increased implementation of energy efficiency projects - Delivery of technical energy and carbon management expertise
Key skills: • Good understanding of energy efficiency technologies • Excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills • Ability to make the business case for carbon reduction at a senior level • Some business development experience desired • Good process design skills • Good written communication skills • Good level of attention to detail • Ability to manage a team of contractors • Ability to work effectively in a complex team environment • Ability to work on initiative
Qualifications and experience: Educated to degree level or equivalent with an excellent command of English, you will have: • A good understanding of barriers and drivers affecting the public sector in tacking climate change • Significant knowledge of energy efficiency and renewable energy technologies • Experience of simple financial project appraisal • Experience of supporting organisations in procuring and implementing equipment to tight timeframes A general understanding of climate change is desirable.
