Conservation Volunteers New Zealand wishes to appoint a full time Team Leader to assist in the safety, welfare and supervision of volunteers on practical conservation projects.  The initial contract will be for a three month period, with the likelihood of extension on an ongoing basis.

The successful applicant will have experience in leading teams and a sound understanding of conservation and natural resource management.  In addition, the appointee will perform a critical role in effectively retaining our volunteer numbers, possess excellent interpersonal skills with the capacity to train, engage and motivate volunteers.

Essential Qualifications & Attributes

• Excellent interpersonal skills with a natural ability to engage and motivate   people
• Full Drivers Licence
• Defensive Driving certificate
• Current Senior First Aid certificate
• Occupational Health and Safety certificate (Level 2 Minimum)

Desired Qualifications & Attributes

• Demonstrated commitment to practical conservation and a record of achievement in this area
• A sound knowledge of major threats to the health of New Zealand's natural environment and an understanding of current land and water rehabilitation techniques
