Team: Sustainable Transport Job Family: Providing - CBG10 Salary: £34,067 - £35,611 per annum pro rata Hours: 37 hours per week Location: Working from home and any CBC offices, including Priory House, Shefford. About the role: Central Bedfordshire Council is committed to becoming carbon neutral by 2030, and at the same time, helping other organisations do likewise. Emissions are on their way down in most areas. The exception is travel and transport. We have to change this. This opportunity is to become an integral part of our team of Sustainable Transport Officers. The remit of this role to assist with the development and delivery of our package of Local Cycling and Walking Infrastructure Plans and to help to achieve the wider aims of the council’s Sustainability Plan. If you are successful, you'll join a new, enthused and growing team within the Sustainability service area. Your role will have the support of some experienced colleagues who will quickly make you feel part of a team. The role will involve working at locations across Central Bedfordshire so having access to your own means of transport is essential. Its easier to promote the benefits of public transport and cycling if you can talk from experience. So we will expect you to travel sustainably for work wherever this is feasible. We'll look at what suits you best to help you. A battery-assisted Brompton bike or similar will be available for your use. The confidence to approach, enthuse and build effective working relationships with a range of different businesses is essential to this role.
