The University of Bristol is looking to recruit a temporary Sustainability Manager who manages Transport and Travel Planning to cover maternity leave for a year (starting in June 2017). The University of Bristol has had an award winning travel plan for over fifteen years, with the travel plan supporting the University’s reputation for world class research and learning. The University has successfully increased staff sustainable travel to 82% and student sustainable travel to 96% by using a variety of measures, including a car parking management system and charging regime, a hugely successful student bus service, as well as enhanced facilities and incentives for non-car transport. The University is looking for an enthusiastic and pragmatic transport professional who can further develop the Universities transport initiatives as well as tackling a number of new transport issues within the University. These include the mobilisation of a new student bus service contract for September 2017, helping to develop transport strategies to support the pedestrianisation of a road through the heart of the estate, a new additional campus and the strategic management of the University’s car parks. The post holder should either have a relevant degree or equivalent with significant experience in a transport related field, or a relevant master’s degree (or equivalent) and significant experience.
