Sustainability Consultant, Manchester

My client is a large corporation with a healthy market share and balance sheet. Owing to their need to become a more sustainable and environmentally friendly business, they are looking to hire a specialist sustainability consultant on a 1 year contract initially with potential for this to be extended further down the line.

Responsibilities of the role will include:

• A full assessment of the business’ scope for becoming more sustainable
• Benchmark the business against competitors in order to ensure sustainability is increasing in line with the market
• Speaking to key stakeholders in the business in order to convince them of the need to transition to a more sustainable business model
• Coming up with creative environmental solutions
• Working in conjunction with energy audit contractors
• Designing a clear initial 3 year strategy

Skills and qualifications required:

• Permission to work in the UK
• Based in the North of England in the Manchester region
• At least 8 years’ experience in environmental consulting, CSR, sustainability or similar.
• Educated to degree level in a related discipline ideally MSC level from a top business school
• Outstanding communication skills, able to “sell” ideas internally
• Able to work to strict deadlines
