The Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh is recruiting for a Sustainability and Energy Manager to join our team. This exciting role involves working on implementing a sustainability strategy and identifying improvements. Working for the Director of Horticulture and Learning, you will be responsible for the operation and monitoring of our energy management plan to achieve a net zero position as well as developing a sustainability methodology in connection to the biodiversity agenda. You will also be working with suppliers to gather, analyse and advise on utilities, waste and other sustainability aspects that will drive operational and environmental performance across the Garden. We are looking for someone who has extensive knowledge of sustainability, the climate emergency and relevant UK climate related legislation as well on Scottish Government targets for Net Zero. Knowledge of renewable technologies as well as utilities and waste management are also essential for the role. You should have proven experience of project management particularly in the fields of either construction or sustainability. You should be familiar with carbon monitoring and reporting and be able to communicate complex & technical information to a variety of audiences.
