An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced individual to join a world leader in the electronics manufacturing industry. The main function of this role will be to coordinate compliance requirements for the UK and Ireland, develop sustainable business strategies to address legal obligations, and work with the appropriate teams to support the diverse needs of the business. Leading on environmental and sustainability issues, you will add value to the organisation through expert knowledge on specialist environmental issues (e.g. eco-design, hazardous chemicals, energy efficiency and eco-labels). In addition you will represent the company to external bodies, monitor EU and UK policy developments and manage compliance costs. You should be prepared to travel within the UK and Ireland as needed. You will be degree qualified with plenty of relevant experience including project management and the delivery of training and presentations. You must also be able to demonstrate experience of working in one or more of the following: government/public affairs, regulatory compliance, electronics recycling, eco-design/DfE, EMS/ISO14001, CR/CSR. Sound knowledge of UK legislative and parliamentary processes is essential, along with a good understanding of the WEEE Directive and recycling issues.
