ERM is seeking a bright, motivated Sustainability & Climate Change Consultant to join our office in Denver, CO. As part of ERM’s Sustainability & Climate Change practice, you will help industrial clients around the world achieve their sustainability objectives and manage climate change related risks and opportunities. The Sustainability & Climate Change team delivers a wide range of services related to environmental, economic and social issues, including strategy development, policies and management systems, metrics and goal setting, reporting and communications, third-party verification and assurance, life cycle management, and stakeholder engagement. We help develop and implement sustainability programs across a broad range of industry sectors for global companies.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Contribute to building a practice that delivers business benefits for clients across the broader aspects of climate change, such as emission reductions, energy efficiency, adaptation, corporate strategy, public disclosure and verification.
  • Manage and deliver sustainability and climate change projects with a specific focus on developing sustainability and climate change strategies (including vision, goals, reduction targets, metrics), GHG inventory development and verification, carbon footprinting, energy efficiency, and life cycle analysis. 
  • Design and deliver sustainability and climate change programs that lead to multi-year client relationships. Build and maintain long-term corporate, senior executive, and business unit relationships.
  • Support sales and marketing activities related to climate change services, both directly and in conjunction with key account managers and sector leaders.  
  • Manage multiple projects within scope/budget/schedule expectations and ensure quality standards on project deliverables.
  • Design and contribute to the development and implementation of the growth strategy for the Western Division Sustainability & Climate Change Practice. Collaborate with the global Sustainability & Climate Change team and contribute to the strategy for growth and excellence.
  • Act as ERM representative on climate change issues - be a “go-to” resource on climate change issues in the marketplace and among ERM partners and consultants.
 
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelors degree in environmental management; Masters degree/MBA and/or formal training in sustainability and climate change is desired.
  • 7 to 10 years professional experience, with client experience at the corporate level.
  • Solid experience assisting significant clients in developing sustainability, corporate social responsibility, and climate change programs and projects.
  • Experience in the Oil and Gas sector a plus.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written; strong presentation skills for client meetings and other events.
  • Ability to train and mentor junior staff.
  • Ability to multi-task, maintain flexibility, travel, and work independently.
