Description

The Supply Reduction Manager is responsible to manage and implement the projects related to IWT under the supervision of the Programme Office Director. This position is especially responsible for market research, collaboration with government authorities and private sector. The role leads the development of SR proposals and information exchange related to wildlife trade with TRAFFIC Global/regional/country offices, and donor offices as well. The Project Manager will be a key contact point for IWT project implementation and reporting and will report directly to the Director of TRAFFIC China and liaise closely with Database manager from TRAFFIC Global Office in the UK.


SPECIFIC DUTIES

• Under the instructions and leadership of the Programm Office Director, the SR Manager will monitor and evaluate IWT project progress and performance, ensuring the timely delivery and technical quality of project results – including projects’ partners.
• Manage the implementation of research and analysis on IWT in China and neighbouring countries.
• Motivate and supporting the related industries to join the efforts to find and combat wildlife crimes in China and globally.
• Support the trans-boundary wildlife enforcement cooperation between China government and other countries.
• Prepare agendas and background documents for projects’ workshops and meetings, organizing events, workshops and making publications in collaboration with Communication Teams.
• Develop proposals to raise funds for reducing the supply of illegal wildlife products in China.
• Communicate with project partners, including the government organizations, industries, institutes/universities and other NGOs, and act as the key contact person on appropriate issues on illegal wildlife trade.
• Prepare the projects’ technical reports, as outlined in project contracts.
• Support project audits by working with the projects’ F&A teams.
• Carry out other duties as requested by line manager.
