Supply Chain AnalystIntroductionThe Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) works to safeguard the world’s seafood supply by promoting the best environmental choice in seafood through the use of its logo. We celebrate, promote and add value to sustainable fisheries. Through the leadership of our partners, we help create market incentives to encourage other fisheries to improve the way they fish the oceans. Over 300 fisheries around the world, landing 12 % of the annual global harvest, are now engaged at some stage of the MSC’s independent assessment process. MSC certified and labelled seafood products are now available in around 100 countries. Information on the roleThis is an exciting opportunity for a Supply Chain Analyst to join the MSC’s Supply Chain (Product Integrity) team, which works with seafood businesses, governments, and NGOs around the world to ensure the traceability and integrity of MSC eco-labelled products. A large part of your role will focus on supporting two major strategic supply chain initiatives; a China-based pilot project for an online supply chain system, and a global DNA-sampling programme to test for fraud or mislabelling in MSC supply chains. Specifically, you will be responsible for carrying out both quantitative and qualitative analyses to measure the success of both projects, synthesizing findings, developing communication materials, and coordinating overall project timelines. Strong analytical capabilities are essential in this role, but good communication skills and experience with basic project management/ coordination will also be important. Knowledge of certification schemes, audit programmes, supply chains, and/ or the seafood industry is an advantage. However, most critical for the successful candidate is a willingness to learn and the ability to balance priorities across several different projects in a high-paced environment. You will be part of an enthusiastic and talented global team, with lots of opportunities to build new skills and knowledge. Please see the job description attached for further information.
