Trout Unlimited is a national organization with 300,000 members and supporters organized into over 400 chapters and councils nationwide. These dedicated grassroots volunteers are matched by a respected staff of organizers, lawyers, policy experts, and scientists, who work out of more than 45 offices across the country. Our mission is to conserve, protect, and restore North America’s cold-water fisheries and their watersheds. POSITION SUMMARYThe Stream Restoration Specialist will report directly to the Technical Services Manager and will be responsible for assessing, surveying, conceptualizing and designing stream projects to provide water quality, habitat and sustainability upgrades to watershed projects on private and public lands. This position is a critical element of the work TU accomplishes in the Mid-Atlantic Highlands and this position interacts with biologists, watershed scientists, engineers, and fishery biologists to find the best alternative to allow native trout to flourish. The position has technical aspects which require interaction with agency engineering staffs. The position will be based in the Mid-Atlantic in the watersheds of the Shenandoah, James, Potomac, and Greenbrier. Duty locations in Virginia, West Virginia, and Maryland will be considered.
