Over the past 30 years of reform and opening to the outside world, China has become one of the largest economies on earth and the way it develops will significantly shape the future of the global economy. The China for a Global Shift Network Initiative (NI) strives to work with China and its partner countries to develop approaches for economic development and an increased quality of life can be achieved within the ecological limits of one planet, while allowing space for developing countries to grow.
The China for a Global Shift Initiative strategy is articulated around four key objectives:
The Strategy Director will be responsible for ensuring integrated approaches within the strategy team as well as coordination with relevant Initiative network partners in the enabling team and implementation teams outside China. This position requires an experienced policy strategist with international experience in sustainable development and sustainability related issues, who can provide strategic leadership and management for the Initiative. Strong interpersonal, team coordination, virtual team management, and social skills are essential, as the position entails extensive coordination within the WWF network, management of projects and staff and external partners and the ability to foster and maintain partnerships. Experience in programme development, execution and management are necessary. Extensive international experience and perspectives are crucial.
