Project Description
The Energy Modernization Project is new initiative that aims to secure decarbonization policies to advance clean energy technologies and reduce greenhouse gas emissions in the United States. The project's work will center on policies that accelerate the transition to electric vehicles, deploy offshore wind energy production, and modernize electricity grids to increase their capacity to deploy new renewable energy resources. Position Overview The officer will serve as a lead campaigner on state decarbonization advocacy initiatives aimed at supporting adoption of electric transportation, deployment of offshore wind energy, and transitioning to a clean grid. Reporting to the senior manager, the officer will collaborate with project leadership to develop strategies and implement state legislative, regulatory, and administrative campaigns. The officer works closely with colleagues to manage initiatives across multiple target states, represents the project to key external decision makers and stakeholder groups, and oversees external contractors and grantees to meet programmatic objectives. The officer will also play a lead role in working closely with communications colleagues to develop content for the website and other external communications materials. This position can be located in Pew's Washington, DC, office , and would be eligible for up to 60% telework. With frequent travel to Florida, Louisiana, North Carolina, South Carolina, Texas, and Virginia, the position could be located in a home office within the U.S. southern region for 100% telework.
