Borrego Solar Systems, Inc seeks a Standards Engineer to join their Engineering Team in Lowell, MA.
About the position:
The primary responsibility of this position is to work with the Chief Technology Officer and Director of Technology. This position will advance the goals of increased project velocity, reduced system cost, maximized energy yield and industry leading PV plant design quality. The primary responsibility of this position will be to develop, document and implement engineering design tools and standards for the purpose of advancing our quality initiative. This position will also serve as a trainer and resource to our project design team with regards to PV system design.

Desired Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, mathematics, computer science or other related field
• Minimum of 1-2 years experience in the PV industry with an understanding of PV system design
• Strong understanding of module and inverter technology, racking systems, combiner boxes, and DAS
• Working knowledge of the NEC code and AC and DC electrical systems
• Excellent communication, writing and presentation skills
• Strong computer skills with emphasis on Excel modeling, AutoCAD and Salesforce.com
• Experience reading, marking up and working off blueprints and specifications
• Ability to think quantitatively extremely efficiently and accurately
• Highly detailed and thorough individual with the proven ability to work in teams and individually to complete projects
• Positive ‘can-do’ attitude
Position Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
• NABCEP Professional Level Certification
• Experience designing multi MW ground mounted pv systems
• Working knowledge of Uniform Building Codes
• Construction or solar pv installation experience
