Responsibilities:

The Senior Technical Field Representative will manage contractor and customer relationships and issue resolution, and will implement quality control for the PSE weatherization program. Qualified candidates will present program goals and opportunities, facilitate training for program participants, and develop and nurture contractor/utility relationships.  The Sr. Technical Field Representative will also explain technical/operational issues to customers, participating contractors, and program partners. Finally, this candidate will assist our technical team in updating the weatherization specifications, forms, and other program protocols to improve contractor experience and ease of incentive reimbursement. 

This position will be based in the Mercer Island office and requires travel within the entire PSE service area.  

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Increase program participation by identifying contractors/builders, qualifying them as potential program prospects, and developing them into program partners.
  • Work with program managers to establish performance goals for participating contractors and monitor progress toward goals.
  • Deliver field and classroom trainings.
  • Facilitate new contractor orientation meetings.
  • Schedule and conduct field inspections and design & implement our quality control program. 
  • Respond to and resolve customer and contractor complaints or issues.
  • Assist in updating program forms and weatherization spec.
  • Stay current on latest Program initiatives, policies, procedures, etc. and proposing ideas for improvement. 
  • Develop advanced technical knowledge in energy efficiency and building science and train other staff members. 
  • Track and enter all required program data in an accurate and timely manner. Provide proper and timely reporting of program progress.
  • Ensure Program Partners are aware of all current program guidelines, incentives and requirements and are properly equipped and trained to participate in the program. Provides contractor training, in classroom or one-on-one as needed.  Develop training materials for new program offerings.
  • Deliver public presentations at industry/trade conferences and promotes program and CSG.
Qualifications:

 

You should be comfortable with and know the following to perform all tasks outlined above. Desired qualifications include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related discipline or equivalent experience. current BPI certification is preferred.
  • 7-10 years experience selling or managing projects in the fields of residential home construction, home improvement, or HVAC; or 3-4 years administering energy conservation marketing programs.
  • Strong client relationship management skills and enthusiasm for energy conservation.
  • Ability to effectively communicate technical and program concepts to contractors, consumers, and other interested people or organizations.
  • Excellent people skills, very good presentation and writing skills. Ability to work independently and in a team setting.
  • Computer proficiency, experience with Windows-based office applications required.
  • Familiarity with computerized building energy modeling software such as REM/Rate, ResCheck and Home Check, Manual J, or other residential construction software required.
  • Expertise in residential Quality Control protocols and procedures.  
  • Must be able to access and inspect residential home basements and attics
  • Local or regional travel required on a regular, often daily basis.
