Description |
We are looking for someone who wants a new and exciting opportunity to move forward Butterfly Conservation’s priority species and landscapes identified in our 2021-2026 Strategy.
You will be responsible for collecting data about priority butterfly and moth species and their habitats in key landscapes right across Northern Ireland. You will use this data to measure the impact of our conservation action as well as informing the development and delivery of new conservation programmes.
You will be a recent graduate and have some voluntary or paid experience in practical surveying or conservation which has provided you with a good understanding of ecology and conservation. We are looking to invest in your development through a combination of on the job mentoring and training from external providers (including QGIS, ecological survey techniques and habitat condition assessment).
You will report into our Northern Ireland Senior Conservation Officer and work closely with internal and external stakeholders across the UK. You’ll be expected to manage and influence a range of stakeholders whilst building data and evidence to enable Butterfly Conservation to delivery its strategic goals.
If you are excited about the prospect of working for a leading wildlife charity and the opportunity for significant career development, please read through the job description and person specification to see if you have the right skills to join the team. If you are interested in the role and would like an informal chat please contact either Rose Cremin, Senior Conservation Officer (NI), (Rcremin@butterfly-conservation.org) or Dai Rees, Head of Conservation for Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland (Drees@butterfly-conservation.org).
Closing date for applications is midday on Monday 6 June 2022. Interviews will be held on Monday 20 or Tuesday 21 June 2022.
