PURPOSE OF POSITION: The Events Officer will be responsible for developing, planning, organizing and implementing activities of public communications nature, in order to help achieve campaign, fundraising and organizational objectives. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: 1.To work with other Greenpeace staff in developing creative and effective events to help communicate the defined messages to target audiences. 2.To coordinate and ensure the smooth execution of public events according to agreed schedule. 3.To work with other staff, especially the communications staff, to ensure that the event scenario is planned and executed according to the defined communications strategy: sending the right message to the right audience. 4.To work with the image officer and other staff to ensure that the event can produce high quality images for media and other mediums. 5.To maintain good relationship with different external organizations which are crucial for event planning and execution. 6.To coordinate the involvement of volunteers in events and activities. 7.To be responsible for selecting, recommending, purchasing and maintaining the necessary/basic equipment and to ensure that the storage facility/warehouse is in good condition. 8.Undertake any other tasks as assigned by the line manager. REQUIREMENTS: 1.With bachelor degree or above; 2.At least 3-year working experience, especially events operation, administration, logistic, public relation or NGO experience; 3.Good personal communications skills; good analysis and research skills; responsible and active working spirit; 4.Can work in a team and independently; 5.Can work under pressure and challenge; good team-work spirit; understand and support the idea of Greenpeace; 6.Both good English and Chinese skills; 7.Good computer skills; familiar with office software.
