Solar Sales Engineer, Ontario - Canada

My client is a successful solar energy company specializing in design and installation of photovoltaic solar systems. They are now looking to hire an experienced Sales Engineer, to join their team in Canada based in Ontario, to head up their team of sales engineers targeting the residential and commercial market.

Responsibilities of the role include:

• Working alongside the business development and sales experts to explain complex installations and all technical aspects of the design to the customer
• Explaining the advantages of installing a solar PV system from a technical/cost efficient perspective to prospective customers
• Working on small installations from as little as 10kw right up to utility scale c. 1MW (roof-based and ground-based)
• Working alongside design and installation experts
• Meeting sales targets on a quarterly basis; generating new business through leads gained via own network
• Frequent travel to customer sites

Skills/qualifications required:

• Prior sales experience in the solar PV space
• Prior engineering experience in the solar PV space
• Ideally, at least 2 years’ work experience as a Project Manager or a Sales Engineer in solar photovoltaic projects 10kw – 1mw
• Available to start at the latest beginning of May 2010
• Able to live/work in Canada with no restrictions
