Solar Purchasing Manager, Colorado, USA

My client is a large International developer and integrator of complete solar PV (photovoltaic) turnkey systems and solar PV power plants. They are currently looking to bring on board an experienced purchasing manager who will be able to make significant contributions to the growth of the company.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced candidate to take a lead position within a national organisation in which you will be able to develop your name as a key player in the market and also to develop your existing skill set. Responsibilities:

• Take the lead and ensure that solar PV projects are fully compliant with contractual and customer requirements.
• Oversee the prioritization of assignments, budgets and to organize and direct the flow of work to meet both internal and external expectations
• Be responsible for the coordination of purchased material costs inputs required to support proposals
• Ensure that the delay in installations due to depletion of materials is minimized.
• Lead meetings and negotiations with key suppliers concerning the purchase of solar materials and to identify changes in the PV market

Requirements:

• 5+ years purchasing management or procurement experience
• ·         Effective negotiation and problem solving skills.
• ·         Proven track record in supplier management and in the development of such relationships
• ·         Must have an understanding of drawings, prints, blueprints for solar PV plants and installations
• Be able to understand the total business operation including material procurement, forecasting, manufacturing and on-time delivery.
• ·         Proven MRP (Manufacturing Resource Planning) and computer skills, including Microsoft Office or equivalent
• ·         Manage and minimize material costs and control price/cost variances
