Solar Purchasing Manager, Colorado, USA

My client is a large American developer and integrator of complete solar PV (photovoltaic) turnkey systems and solar PV power plants. They are currently looking to bring on board an experienced purchasing manager who will be able to make significant contributions to the growth of the company.

Responsibilities:

• Assures that projects are fully compliant with contractual and customer requirements.
• Oversee the prioritization of assignments, budgets and to organize and direct the flow of work to meet both internal and external expectations
• Ensures the coordination of purchase material costs inputs required to support proposals
• Ensure that the delay in installations due to depletion of materials is minimized.
• Meet with key suppliers to promote the organisations best interest concerning the purchase of materials and to identify changes in the photovoltaic market

Requirements:

• 5+ years purchasing management or procurement experience
• Effective negotiation and problem solving skills.
• Must have an understanding of drawings, prints, blueprints for PV plants and installations
• Be able to understand the total business operation including material procurement, forecasting, manufacturing and on-time delivery.
• Proven MRP (Manufacturing Resource Planning) and computer skills, including Microsoft Office or equivalent
• Manage and minimize material costs and control price/cost variances
